Xpring is Hosting a Blockchain Interoperability Hackathon in Berkeley

Xpring to host the first annual conference of the University Blockchain Research Initiative sponsored by Ripple in Berkeley. The blockchain event for a hackathon hosted on October 2-3 at UC Berkeley; winners will get a chance to win $15,000 in prizes. The event is being sponsored by Ripple, an online banking platform that connects banks and payment providers. The event is being hosted at Blockchain for UBRI Connect.

This is a great opportunity to build on the XRP Ledger and Interledger protocol, together with the Xpring product, engineering teams, and other developers. With the opportunity to win exciting prizes like XRP, the winners get to present their demos in front of 150+ academics, developers, industry experts, investors, and companies in the blockchain, cryptocurrency and FinTech space.

The competition is tough as the best of the minds will be gathered there from all across the globe and they will be judged by some of the best brains in the industry. The panel of judges will include senior officials from Xpring/Ripple, Berkeley at Blockchain, and Electric Capital, as per the XRP News.

Blockchain at Berkeley is one of a kind university-based ecosystem in the space of blockchain technology. The aim is to educate community members and facilitate ground-breaking projects. Also, discussions, interactive sessions, and blockchain conference with industry experts are organized to help the community members to get to know this industry better. They also assist companies to ‘benefit from blockchain technology by identifying use cases, building out prototypes, and integrating solutions.’

Xpring is an initiative by Ripple to build the ‘Internet of Value.’ Xpring collaborates with developers, entrepreneurs, and companies that change the way payment business works and also are transforming currencies using blockchain technology. Xpring backs open-source crypto protocols like the XRP Ledger and Interledger projects. It also funds blockchain startups and partners with businesses to aid their growth.
